New hires at DOC NIST are required to complete mandatory training in the DOC CLC before fully onboarding. However, users may not yet have access to their DOC NIST work account or Single Sign-On (SSO) access at the time the training must be completed.

To work around this, new hires create a temporary DOC NIST CLC Onboarding Account using a personal email address. This account allows them to access the DOC CLC and complete required training prior to receiving full access to their DOC NIST work account.

Once the user receives access to their DOC NIST work email address, a permanent DOC NIST CLC Work Account is created using their government email address.

Afterwards

• The onboarding account is deactivated.
• The user is expected to use the work account going forward.
• Training transcripts from the onboarding account are merged into the work account.
